Ayame is a guy. He also happens to be Yuki%26#039;s older brother. If you read the manga, you%26#039;ll discover that Hatori, Shigure, and Ayame have been close friends since ... well, forever. Ayame is a designer and owns a costume shop. He designs things %26quot;that make his customers%26#039; fantasies come to life%26quot; as he would put it. He also like to wear clothes that make people think he%26#039;s royalty or something. I wouldn%26#039;t exactly say that he %26quot;sleeps with guys%26quot; like he%26#039;s gay or something. It just that when he transforms, he transforms into a snake and since snake are cold-blooded he trys to find a warm body whether it%26#039;s male or female. He says he loves Hatori because well ... he%26#039;s Ayame. He and Shigure have this little %26quot;act%26quot; that they like to do that suggest that Ayame, Shigure, and Hatori were lovers, but I doubt that. They%26#039;re just really close. For Ayame to say that he loves someone means that he really cares a lot about them. Also if you%26#039;re refering to the time when Kyo or Yuki woke up and found Ayame in bed with them that was to piss Kyo off and to show Yuki how much his big brother loves him. Ayame tends to over do it when it comes to showing love or affection especially towards Yuki because in the past when Yuki needed him the most, Ayame rejected him and acted like he didn%26#039;t exist. It was a very sad and painful experience for Yuki and Ayame has come around now and feels guilty about what he did. Okay ... kind of long but I hope it helps. Reply:they never kiss in the anime because it only goes up to volume 6..but in the manga they kiss in chapter 123 but tohru is almost dead so she doesn%26#039;t remember it but they kiss again in chaper 129 when they confess to eachother when she gets out of the hospital...you can download these chapters at stoptazmo.com...and if you really are a fruits basket fan then i suggest you read the entire manga becuase the anime is horrible and the screw up a lot of things that are very important in the manga..which is the original story..

I just watched the first episode and i thought it was going to be another girly anime show, but it was SO SAD!!! She lives in a tent alone, she lost her parents, she acts cheerful at school, but deep inside she%26#039;s lonely...This is a very sad story! This made me cry! I am not a fan of girly anime shows, but this maybe the first i will like!

she%26#039;s living in a tent because her gramp%26#039;s house is under renovation. she was living with her grandpa then. but because of the renovation, her grandpa moved over to her uncle%26#039;s house and tohru didnt wanna move in as well so she lied to her grandpa about being able to handle it and in the end she went to live in a tent.
and about why everyone will turn into animals, it%26#039;s a curse on the souma family. the worse is kyou, not just because he%26#039;s a cat and a cat doesnt belong to the zodiac animals. you%26#039;ll know when you watch till the end.

I tends to focus on the other characters backgrounds and how Tohru attempts to help them. They turn into animals because of a curse of the zodiac. Later on the other members of the zodiac appear (all turning into animals with a hug) and a deeper relationship between them all is revealed.
All in all its a pretty good anime, but the end leaves many confusions and leads you to eventually read the manga.

2- their bodies are under alot of stress (embarassment, sickness, pain, etc....)
my opinion is to read the manga first.... because when you finish the anime you would just want to continue instead of reading it from vol 1 (most ppl do this) so yeah....
(if this happens the best place to start at is vol 6 chapter 51 ^^ ive tested this myself and this is the best place to read from when you finish the anime ^^)

Fruits Basket follows the life of the student Tohru Honda, who was recently orphaned when her mother, Kyoko Honda, died in a car accident. I was kind of feeling the same way as I read the series, but when Yuki and Machi%26#039;s relationship was developed I was very pleased with the pairings. Machi%26#039;s social quirks are so cute! ... Huh? oh yeah, I was asking a question.

The review is really good too and the storyline does seem great. If you want to watch the anime first, don%26#039;t and go read the manga, since the storyline is better in the manga.

Is Mammage a guy or a girl? They mentioned him as a boy, but he dresses and acts like a girl, and looks like one. Is he really a girl later on in disguised like Haruhi from Auron Host Club?

I don%26#039;t know how far you are into the series but they actually do in fact have a relitive who likes to dress like an actual woman but gets offended and upset when they call him a girl. He is the son of the lady who works at the Hot springs.
The story I know is messed up but it%26#039;s still very good.

In Fruit Basket who does Tohru marry?
I just finished the show but not planning to read the manga, i just don%26#039;t have taste for manga. Who does Tohru marry? Let me guess, Yuki? Yuki has always been close to Tohru. Kyo already has that other crazy girl that beats him up all the time hehe, Shigura, i believe he%26#039;s going to marry that crazy lady that chases him everywhere for his novel, wild guess! I just finished watching episode 13, Are they brothers? Why is everyone so scared of Akito, he%26#039;s young, even if he%26#039;s the headmaster, they should all lock him up, he abused his power too much

I watched the anime (most of it anyway) but, I%26#039;m not exactly sure if it%26#039;s Touru (hope i spelled it right) and Kyo or Touru and Yuki. Which pairing is it, and why?

I own the Japanese anime set and it only goes up to Volume 6 of the manga, so don%26#039;t rely on it too much because it leaves you hanging with Tohru acting happy about Kyo returning to his regular self and Yuki amused at Tohru as always. However, in the end, Tohru realizes she loves both guys equally, and unlike Momo from Peach Girl and Peach Girl Change of Heart, Tohru does not choose either of the two. It%26#039;s a little sad to some people, but it%26#039;s definitely for the best- it leads to the whole breaking the curse of the Zodiac thing- the rat%26#039;s no longer better than the rat that way coz technically, he doesn%26#039;t win. =] And Tohru%26#039;s loving enough not to choose favorites.
